Retrospectacle: MCW 12/5/99

MCW history highlight video

What to look for?: This was the first Maryland Championship Wrestling show I ever attended so it was a memorable night of course. The last MCW show to eminate from the Teamsters Hall in Dundalk, MD went on to compensate for the bitterly cold night outside. Adam Flash ended Mikey Whipwreck's one day reign as MCW Cruiserweight champion by pinning Quinn Nash in a 3x threat match (Whipwreck had to work a show up north after this match). Our group was cheering for Gregory Martin, who would go on to have an all too short career in MCW due to injury (though it did yield one appearance on WWF TV) and was unsuccessful this night. An insult by Cueball Carmichael caused my friend Jack to yell out the loudest obscenity possibly ever heard at Teamsters Hall.. A win by the Holy Rollers continued their long rivalry with Christian York & Joey Matthews that would stretch into 2002. And the First Family/Family of Freaks feud would end in a wild Elimination match that marked a face turn for Romeo Valentino.
